SSEL 2018In 2018, the annual U4 Social Sciences, Economics and Law (SSEL) Conference took place in the congress center Pauliner Church in Göttingen from 21 to 23 November.

The focus was on the topic of ‘Current Challenges for a Sustainable Future’. Over 100 researchers and PhD candidates from across the academic spectrum took part in the conference. They came from all U4 partner universities as well as many other institutions of higher education across Europe.

In ten panels, led by experts in their field, the participants discussed different emerging global challenges concerning legal systems, sustainable policies, social inclusion, environmental innovations, jobs of the future, automation, migration, human rights and climate change, among others.

All panels as well as various networking opportunities built a platform for meaningful and productive discussion as well as for valuable exchange of knowledge that helps and supports scientists in continuing conducting meaningful research.
